📊 Module 2: The Exam Structure (The "Breakdown")

To truly understand B2 First, you need to see the specific tasks. Here are examples for the most challenging parts:

This is the most feared part of the exam. You must rewrite a sentence so it means the same as the first, using a specific "key word."

In Part 1, you MUST write an essay. You are given a prompt and two points to discuss, plus one point of your own.

Prompt: "Is it better to study alone or with other people?"
Point 1: Concentration.
Point 2: Motivation.
Point 3: (Your own idea) → Example: Resource sharing.
✅ B2 Expectation: You should use connectors like "Furthermore," "On the other hand," and "In conclusion."

You hear a recording of two people talking. You must identify the speaker's attitude or opinion.

Audio Snippet: "I thought the film was okay, but the ending was a bit predictable, don't you think?"
Question: How does the speaker feel about the film?
- A) Completely disappointed.
- B) Slightly unimpressed by the plot.
- C) Thrilled by the surprise ending.
✅ Correct Answer: B (The word "predictable" is the clue).

You and a partner are given a visual prompt (e.g., a picture of different ways to save the environment) and must discuss it for 1 minute.

Prompt: "Talk about whether these methods are effective for saving the planet."
✅ B2 Expectation: Instead of just saying "I like this," you must use interactional language:
- "What do you think about...?"
- "I see your point, but wouldn't it be more effective to...?"
- "We agree that recycling is important, but perhaps we should also consider..."

180 – 190 → Grade A (You are actually at a C1 level!)
160 – 179 → Grade B (Solid B2 pass)
140 – 159 → Grade C (Minimum B2 pass)
120 – 139 → Level B1 (You didn't get B2, but Cambridge recognizes you are at B1 level).
